Ryan LINDSAY – Impaired Driving

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with both suspended and impaired driving following a traffic stop.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Front Street, Trenton.

During the investigation, a suspended driver was arrested for being impaired. The driver was subsequently transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, charges were laid under the Criminal Code (CC), the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

Ryan LINDSAY, 23 years old, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine
  • Driving while under suspension x2

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 31, 2025. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.

Robert LEMIEUX Was Arrested

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after single vehicle collision.

On July 8, 2025, at 7:17 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and local Fire were dispatched to a Melbourne Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for a single vehicle rollover.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Robert LEMIEUX, a 61-year-old of Melbourne, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 17, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

There were no injuries reported.

27 Year Old Arrested – Details Released

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Innisfil, Ontario resident with criminal driving offences following a traffic stop for speeding in the Municipality of Bluewater on June 21st, 2025. 

Just after 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on Zurich-Hensall Road in Bluewater. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Michael ANGEJA, 27 years-of-age from Innisfil has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

Th accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Cannabis Control Act and Highway Traffic Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 14, 2025.

2 Sent To Hospital – Katlyn MACCANDLESS Arrested

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Fergus resident with two criminal charges, stemming from a motor vehicle collision.

On July 8, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP, alongside local emergency responders were notified of a single motor vehicle, containing two occupants, landing into a nearby ditch on First Line within Elora. 

Both occupants were extracted from the motor vehicle and transported to local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Katlyn MACCANDLESS, a 32-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 25, 2025.

Huron East Resident Arrested

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic stop in a “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere” (R.I.D.E.) check on June 21, 2025, in the Municipality of Huron East. 

Just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, Huron County OPP officers observed a vehicle attempt to avoid a RIDE check at the intersection of Morrison Line and Rogerville Road in Huron East. Officers pulled the vehicle over a short distance away on Hensall Road.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Jason VANBELLE, 49 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Operation while Prohibited.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 14, 2025.

Nicholas YARKIE – Impaired Driving

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On July 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a person driving a lawn tractor down the street in the area of Dufferin Street and Nelson Street, in Palmerston.

Police arrived on scene and spoke to the operator of the lawn tractor.

As a result of the investigation, Nicholas YARKIE, 26-years-old of Palmerston, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on July 18, 2025.

8 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Eight individuals have been charged as a result of separate impaired driving-related incidents over a one-week period.

At approximately 10:22 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, a Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop and began an investigation on James Street in Delhi.

Following the interaction, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

As result, 33-year-old Viktor SEMCHYK from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

At approximately 2:09 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the Norfolk County OPP responded to a collision between a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a sedan on Indian Line near Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation. No injuries were reported.

After conducting a roadside sobriety test, officers took the driver of the sedan into custody without incident.

As a result, 25-year-old Keenan BARNES from Brantford, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Failure to comply with Release Order – other than to attend court – two counts.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Wednesday, July 3, 2025.

At approximately 10:16 p.m. on that same day, a Norfolk County OPP officer conducted a traffic stop and began an investigation on Donjon Boulevard in Port Dover.

After conducting a roadside sobriety test, the officer took the driver into custody without incident.

As a result, 26-year-old Gabriel BOODOO from Toronto, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

At approximately 1:31 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Norfolk County OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Cockshutt Road in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle and conducted a sobriety assessment of the driver.

As a result of the interaction, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

20-year-old Chase BACHER from Haldimand County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

At approximately 8:05 p.m. that same day, the Norfolk County OPP responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a suspected impaired driver on Howard Street in Waterford.

Officers located the vehicle and, following an interaction with the driver, took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, 39-year-old Thomas FEATHERSTONE from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

At approximately 9:18 p.m. that same day, the Norfolk County OPP responded t oa similar call on Cedar Drive in Turkey Point.

Officers located the vehicle and, following an interaction with the driver, took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, 54-year-old Donald MACKEY from Cambridge, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while prohibited – legal restriction from any other act of parliament or provincial law,
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence.

The accused is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

At approximately 1:36 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, the Norfolk County OPP responded a single-vehicle collision involving an SUV on Highway 3 in Delhi. Minor injuries were reported.

Following an interaction with the driver, the individual was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 29-year-old Michaela HEALEY from Oxford County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

At approximately 3:43 p.m. that same day, the Norfolk County OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a pair of sedans on Thompson Road West in Waterford. No injuries were reported.

Following a roadside sobriety test, one of the drivers was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 25-year-old Zachary MACKINNON from Brantford, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Obstruct plate,
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

2 More Impaired Drivers Charged

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On June 22nd, 2025 at approximately 12:44 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) program along the off-ramp on Balsam Street, within the City of Thunder Bay.

As a result of the R.I.D.E. program, it was determined that one driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Halie KEOUGH, 22, of the Thunder Bay, Ontario was charged with:

Criminal Code:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);

Highway Traffic Act:

  • Novice driver – B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Concentration) above zero;

Liquor Licence Act:

  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 6th, 2025.

Furthermore, on July 1st, 2025 at approximately 1:23 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol & initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle along Highway 11-17, within the City of Thunder Bay.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Herbert McWATCH, 55, of Marathon, Ontario was charged with:

Criminal Code:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

Highway Traffic Act:

  • Driver without proper headlights – motor vehicle;
  • Fail to signal – lane change;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 20th, 2025.

3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested three drivers for impaired related offenses over the Canada Day Long Weekend.

On June 28, 2025 at 12:47 a.m., the Huntsville OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. checkpoint on Main St West, when they suspected a driver to have alcohol in their body.  

As a result of the investigation, Rickie DOODHNAUGHT, 44 years old of Brampton Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80plus)

The accused is set to appear in court July 29, 2025 at Ontario court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario,

On June 28, 2025 at 6:24 p.m., the Huntsville OPP were on patrol on Landsdowne Street when they observed a male driving who was believed to have been consuming alcohol earlier. A vehicle stop was done to check the sobriety of the driver. The driver was arrested for impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation, Kevin SEWELL, 36 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand (Breath)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 29, 2025.

On June 29, 2025 at 10:21 p.m., the Huntsville OPP were conducting on patrol on Harp Lake Road when they observed a male on an ATV with no helmet.  When officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled from police. Police soon after located the driver and suspected alcohol in his body.

As a result of the investigation, Donald GALLAGHER, 54 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80plus)

·      CC 320.17 Flight from peace officer

·      HTA 53(1) Driving while under suspension x 2

·      Numerous provincial offenses

The accused is set to appear in court August 5, 2025 at Ontario court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario,

All 3 drivers have had their vehicles impounded for 7 days and they received a 90 Administrative Driver’s license Suspension.

We all play a part in stopping impaired driving! If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. 

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

Daniel LAWLER – Impaired Driving

 (SOUTH-WEST OXFORD, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On June 27, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Sweaburg Road in South-West Oxford Township.

Three occupants were in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel LAWLER, a 31-year-old resident of the Town of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on August 5, 2025.
