Fatal Motorcycle Collision – Hwy 7

(FRONTENAC, ON) – The driver of a motorcycle has died from their injuries following a collision on Highway 7 between Kaladar and Sharbot Lake.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Highway 7 near Pleasant Hill Lane. No other vehicles were involved.

The 71-year-old male from the Ottawa area was transported to hospital but died from his injuries.

Collision Reconstructionists with the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team (TIME) were at the scene for the investigation.

Highway 7 was closed for several hours between Arden Road and Mountain Grove Road for the collision investigation but has since reopened.

Drug Bust – Willard MARION

(PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, an arrest has been made along with a seizure of drugs and Canadian currency after members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant at a Penetanguishene residence at approximately 11:45 a.m. July 8,2025

Officers from the OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) from the Southern Georgian Bay, Huronia West and Collingwood Detachments along with OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K-9) and detachment uniform members executed the search warrant at a Main Street, Penetanguishene apartment building resulting in the arrest of a Midland resident.

Officers arrested a total of six persons found inside and seized a quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine, an assortment of pills, Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

Upon the completion of the investigation four individuals were released unconditionally, one individual remained in custody on outstanding investigative warrants and 54 year old Willard MARION has been charged criminally with the following property and drug related offences.

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

The accused was released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on August 7, 2025.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision On Hwy 11

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motorcycle collision that occurred on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst this afternoon.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at 3:15 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers, along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to a collision that occurred on Highway 11 North, just north of Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst involving a motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old man from Niagara-on-the-Lake, was ejected and unfortunately did not survive the collision.

Highway 11 North between Muskoka Road 169 and Pinedale Road is closed to allow the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team to assist with the ongoing investigation. The closure is expected to be in place for several hours.

1 Sent To Hospital: James KOWALL-HAGGART Arrested

(BOSANQUET TWP, ON) – One person is charged following a three-vehicle collision in Lambton Shores.

On July 10, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Lambton Shores Fire  responded to collision on Lakeshore Road involving two passenger vehicles and a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).

A 46-year-old male from Plympton-Wyoming was transported by EMS to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

James KOWALL-HAGGART, 20 years old of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation was charged under the Criminal Code with Dangerous Operation and Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision that occurred in the Wilsonville area.

At approximately 6:38 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Indian Line near Wilsonville.

The investigation determined that the motorcycle was travelling along Indian Line when it left the roadway, causing the operator to sustain serious, life-threatening injuries. The individual, a 43-year-old from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Indian Line was closed for several hours between County Line and Cemetery Road; however, it has since reopened.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on Indian Line and witnessed the collision – or has any relevant information – to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

David MINTZ – Assault With Weapon, Threats

(DOURO-DUMMER TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual after attending a Douro-Dummer residence for a disturbance.

On Thursday July 10, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the OPP Peterborough County Detachment received a report of an assault on Maryvale Road in Douro-Dummer Township. The caller advised that an individual from another unit in the building became enraged when asked to move some belongings from a common area. The caller stated that the accused followed the victim out of the residence with a weapon in hand attempting to strike them and then causing damage to a vehicle.

Peterborough County OPP officers attended and after speaking with all parties, one individual was arrested.

David MINTZ (age 34) of Douro-Dummer, ON., was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Mischief under $5,000

The accused was held for Bail appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – A motorcycle rider has died from their injuries following a collision in South Glengarry Township.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene on County Road 2 near Brodeur Road in the Camerons Point area.

A motorcycle had left the road, and the rider was found in the ditch with serious injuries. The 23-year-old male from Quebec was transported to hospital by Cornwall SDG Paramedics and was then transferred to a regional trauma centre.

Witnesses have indicated that a car, described as a black Honda Civic or Accord, had been seen being driven dangerously in the area at the time of the crash. It’s not known if this vehicle was involved in the collision.

Investigators want to hear from witnesses or anyone with potentially relevant dashcam video, who has not spoken to officers. Goderich Assault – 21 Year Old Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – On July 1st, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner. Additionally, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit.

A 21-year-old individual from Hamilton was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm,

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80.

The accused was processed and later released with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 28th, 2025.

Ryan LINDSAY – Impaired Driving

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with both suspended and impaired driving following a traffic stop.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Front Street, Trenton.

During the investigation, a suspended driver was arrested for being impaired. The driver was subsequently transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, charges were laid under the Criminal Code (CC), the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

Ryan LINDSAY, 23 years old, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine
  • Driving while under suspension x2

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 31, 2025. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.

Drug Bust – GORRY & PORTELANCE

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after the seizure of illegal drugs in Hawkesbury.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation earlier this year into drug trafficking in the area.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, members of the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Higginson Street in Hawkesbury. Two people were arrested at the scene.

Officers seized suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine, suspected hydromorphone pills, and an unknown opioid powder. They also seized nearly $1700 in cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Richard GORRY, age 60 and Alexandre PORTELANCE, age 33, both of Hawkesbury, have been charged with:

  • Traffick in a Schedule 1 substance – four counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused were release from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on August 20, 2025.

The investigation is continuing.
