(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On May 28, 2025, at approximately 7:56 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a vehicle along Sideroad 20, Municipality of South Bruce.
Police attended the area and located the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.
Andrew MCGRATH, 28-years-old, resident of South Bruce, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
- Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence, HTA 32(1)
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)
- Drive motor vehicle – no plates, HTA 7(1)(b)(i)
- Operate unsafe vehicle, HTA 84(1)
- G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver, HTA O.Reg 340/94 5(1)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, LLCA 42(1)(a)
The accused is set to appear on July 2, 2025, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charges.
